  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Social Network...

so the question from now is, does the m-x sensor surpass the viper cam in it's dynamic range and sensitivity? must be close if not does it if fincher is ready to move away from viper now.

Very nice to hear. Great news!

Looking forward to the 30th more than ever. Good to hear that M-X beta testing is well underway and that the results are exceptional and ever improving.

Nice Try

who's trying? I'm serious. I'll be shooting with the RED in situations, low budget situations, that a lot of people just starting out will be using their RED's. Why only give the upgraded cameras to big budget films? There'll be a lot of films made with very little money due to the cost of the RED One camera as well as the soon to be release Scarlet and Epic. What I'm going to be shooting could be very valuable as far as pushing the limits of the M-X sensor. Everything always looks great in a studio or on location when you've got a truck full of HMI's and a big crew, but how about out on the icy streets of Chicago in December with a 8x8 ultrabounce?
Anyway, it couldn't hurt to let Jim know.

Congrats!!!

R1 M-X becomes a legend.

Looking forward to upgrade my R1 to M-X soon!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hurray:

It has got M-X sensor before EPIC-X, it's an acquisition digital cinema system that has both image and audio in one compact body,

can be a studio and handheld camera changed in a second very easy, can shoot 4.5K and 2.33:1 wide screen, etc,...

don't need to add more because here we all know that...

Now has got a job to shoot entire feature directed by David Fincher.

What else at the moment?

Isn't it already a legendary system?

Based solely on anecdotal evidence I believe that Fincher/Miranda and their crew worked very hard to wring a lot out of the Viper on Ben Button. I have also heard that Fincher owns at least one Viper and enjoys working with it. That said, as fast as things are advancing in D-cinema these days the Viper is showing its age.

The tremendous passion of Jim and Red Team combined with a better technological formula for camera design is spurring a rapid evolution. As the core components of the RED camera system mature, and the post tools to deal with the data set improve - the goal posts are moving.

Congrats - #19

Sanjin's blown his trade-up to Epic option by installing a non-approved lens mount.

Code named Noctilux. :troll: :conehead::banned:

:hurray:

On pins and needles till Red D DAY, oct 30.

Expected, but great news nonetheless. It's incredible how far you've come in so little time, Jim and Co..

I'm still very surprised that Robert Rodriguez has stayed so silent on Red, why isnt he in this? It seems straight up his alley. Hopefully he's on the Epic train soon enough

You guys must be happy with that. Shows that the hardwork has paid off.

The next year is gonna be one hell of a ride for RED. Better strap yourselves in boys and girls.
