So the 48GB doesn't work on RED ONE YET?

Hi Everyone,

I'm still waiting on my BT Red to arrive but seen on the forum that someone tried a 48gb card on their Red one and it didn't work? Has any others tried this or is it true that we will have to wait for a firmware update until we can use that card?

I contacted Red before I bought my R1 and here was their response!

"Hello,
Thank you for contacting RED SUPPORT.
In order to use the 48GB REDMAGs with our RED ONE camera you will need to be running Beta firmware version 32.0.2. Found on our website here, https://www.red.com/downloads/502a96ce17ef023df2000213."

Hi Adam,

Yes I seen that in another thread, but some guy said he had that firmware and his 48gb card was not working proberly. So just want to know is this the final word as I e-mailed a Red tech and he said he'd get back to me to let me know if they work or not, still waiting a reply.

I already ordered 3! will receive mine this week and will check if it works.
another stupid question: i only know the "older" ones with cf module. Will the firmware Update work the same way with the SSDs?

I was told by a RED Rep that the 48GB SSD REDMAGS will work soon, they are working on a firmware that I don't thing is ready just yet. I am also watching out for any new updates on the card issue. I will keep you posted.

yeah they won't work until this new firmware is released, I really hope it is before Mid January as I had a job lined up and would feel a lot more comfortable with the extra card behind me.

Does that mean that they lied in their emails saying that the SSDs work with the latest beta firmware? I am a bit confused

Yes. If the 48GB actually are not working with the latest firmware without problem then they are lying.
Because I ordered 4x48GB pack and I asked my rep whether it will work on Red One and he said it will work without any issue.
If it doesn't work I will be disappointed and frustrated.
Because when they said it works I expect the SSD to work right now.
Not in the future at some point through some firmware that the release date is unknown.
