Seems like most people are selling their RedOnes to get Epic-X but are telling buyers to wait until a specified time period to take delivery of their R1s. Doesn't make much sense to me. Shouldn't we wait until Epic's hit the market, then decide to sell of the R1 after everyone figures out what the fair market value is? Seems like a lot of people are anticipating and guessing what that market will be like. Red hasn't even shipped Tattoo's yet, let alone production models. I for one have thought about selling my entire Red MX 363 package but not until I have a working Epic-X in my hands. Be careful about selling your R1 now, unless you make zero revenue from it.. Nobody knows when the Stage 2s will ship for sure. Right now it's just a guessing/waiting game.

But Jim said!....just kidding. A moment of pause never hurts. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm sure there are many that cannot afford the deposit or payment for EPIC without first selling their RED and don't want to miss the early stage-2 opportunity.

I was planning to do stage 3, but selling my R1 and doing stage 2 seems like a smart idea for me. I might loose a little rental, but i work more without my cam than with and my market is saturated with stupid cheap R1 rentals that i dont want to compete with. $150/day with cheap nikons and operator. Scarlet is going to make it even worse, so i want to get to epic sooner and stay on projects that want quality.

People are renting RED ONE packages with Nikon Lenses AND an operator for $150 per day? Where?

How much do you charge for 2 months?

I would like to hang onto my RED MX as long as possible and even have it as a "B" camera. Of course if you can sell your RED One right now that your not renting out with the plan of doing Stage 2 Epic then why not. Would kind of blow not have a RED until Epic comes out. But I'm sure some will be able to live with that.

If you can, hang on to your RED-MX as a B camera. I've had so many situations in my life where I only had ONE of a particular critical piece of equipment. Clients depend upon reliability. They may not be happy if you have to shoot on your RED-MX because there's a problem with your EPIC but they'll be much happier (and you will too) than if you have to tell them you can't shoot at all or have to delay and rent. From what I know, the image from EPIC-X and RED-MX should be indistinguishable right?

That's what I thought, so if the clients will not be happy with your red one mx you should just educate them, because it's ridiculous
