  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

So, is 1080p now up and running in Build 17?

Given the caveat that we constantly look for new ways to do things, providing 1080p live outputs during record requires that that camera is recording RGB.

Is that a No?
I hope this doesn't become a Clue joke. lol :)

If this will help: I bought a 46' Sony Bravia (KDL-46V3000) for use with my Reds. I have connected it to 4 different Reds spanning many builds. One thing is constant: It immediately locks up the camera and you can do nothing but power off and restart. (It does make a good monitor for my editor though.)

Same thing here with a 46" 1080p Samsung tv. Camera locks up and no button is responding anymore. Have to power off by unplugging the power cable.

Yesterday we tried with my friend Fauna from this forum a bunch of monitors on a store. We hooked up a 15ft HDMI to HDMI cable with a HDMI to DVI converter. We tried both 720P and MENU DVI outputs on preview mode. The 720P worked on most monitors, we got a live preview of the camera with a sort of information on the lower part of the screen showing the title of the menu. On the MENU DVI side, we got absolutely nothing... We tried Viewsonic, LG and Samsung,(1440x900 and 1680x1050) And no luck at all, not only we didnt see the ASA or frame rate, the monitor stated "No signal detected". I heard some had luck with an LG or DELL, and as I looked for their specs I found no big difference between those and the ones I tried here locally. What could be going on? Any help? Thanks.

A consumer HDTV is not going to accept a 1280 x 848 pixel display, so you will need to connect to a P.C monitor via a HDMI to DVI cable.

LG brand computer monitors seem to work very well in my experience, just have the MONITOR output HD-SDI setting at 59.94 not 50.00

I just picked up an HP w2007 computer monitor per the approved monitors list and have a weird "jitter" for everything on the monitor when the camera is set to MONITOR/menus (DVI)/HD-SDI 59.94 while outputting HDMI to DVI-D. Everything on the screen is shaking (image, text, center cursor, etc.); the image is stable when set to Video (720p). Checked my connections, re-read through the operations guide, and did a handful of searches on RedUser but didn't find any info about that sort of issue.

Anybody have this issue? Thoughts? Suggestions? Some settings that I missed?
