  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SmallHd is a stellar company

It still sounds to me as the connection on the monitor was poor. Maybe you can get the HDMI socket resoldered.
Try the other way:
Get an HDMI computer display and try with the same cables on the same camera. That should tell you where the issue occurs....
We will try this asap Illl keep you posted.

Here are the results:

Tested RED MX using a Sony FWD-50PX2 Plasma, regular 10ft Belden HDMI with HDMI to DVI converter (Sony DVI only) and got both RED menu under DVI and 720p (menu hidden due to size). I didnt know that the RED menu shows up on regular displays? We tried all the cables that didnt work and it was fine.
It looks like were going we have to give SmallHD a call on this.
We know it works with one specific cable. We tried moving the connectors around to see if it gets intermitent. DP6 solid as rock no probs with connectors.
On a strange note, we cant get the RED MX to work on a Dell U2711 27" LCD via HDMI. We can get the Dell to play nice with RED Rocket and BOB but not the MX.

Just to add...

Just to add...

I know this doesn't really concern SmallHD DP6 in any way but here goes.
While we were testing the RED MX on other displays, we discovered that none of the HMDI displays (not counting DP6) we have will work with the RED MX using straight thru HDMI cabling.
Tested on Dell U2711 LCD using HDMI and NEC LCD using HDMI.
However if we use the HDMI cable (any cable) plus the HDMI to DVI Converter we can use any of the DVI options in any of the displays here.
Just as well, were not going to lug around a 42inch plasma during a shoot :)
We really need to get this DP6 working consistently with other cables. The one that works is quite thick and cumbersome.
Were also iffy that it doesn't work with other cables.
