Hi all

I already have the 1303HDR and it's proving to be very useful on set, especially for AC's running remote focus.

I am keen to get a larger brother, but I cannot decide between the 24" or 32" versions. I know the 32" is brighter, but are there any other obvious advantages to one over the other? My gear lives at a rental house so it could be on a studio shoot one day and on location another.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Nicholas,

I own the 1303 and the 2403, both HDR. The 13" has been great, and actually a very handy size for traveling or run-n-gun shoots. The 24" has been useful as well, but been less pleased with the color on it. Yes, it's extremely bright, but has a very bad viewing angle. It's good for clients to watch in a sunny/outdoor environment, but probably not the best for studio work with more controlled lighting. I realize this doesn't really answer your question on 24" vs. 32", but just my two cents. I guess I would consider seeing what other inventory your rental house has in stock, and maybe you can fill a void with either the 24" or 32", so yours would rent out first. Good luck!

Thanks for the input, Corey.

The rental house is pretty set up with Flanders DM 25" OLED's. So I thought it might be worth getting a large daylight-viewable to add rental variety. The viewing angle issue concerns me though. I wonder if the 32" has the same issue as the 24".

I was an early adopter of the SmallHD 2403. Short story is that I loved the design but hated the color shift off-axis. It was horrible. I returned it and have since purchased a Flanders DM240 LCD and am very pleased.
