Ok, so we shot (almost) everything at what I thought was 4K but turns out it was at 3840 x 2160.

After a whole lot of playing around and searching this forum it turned out that at this particular resolution I needed to use REDCODE as my sequence compressor in Final Cut in order to be able to play back the M proxies in real time (prores sequence had to be rendered and unlimited RT in my RT drop down settings menu disappeared).

So, now finally able to edit using the M proxies. However I cannot apply any effects or scale or pan the image which is pretty annoying. What is more annoying however is that I cannot get the slow motion footage that we shot at 2048 x 1152 to play back in the sequence at all! As its M proxy is a smaller resolution to the others it requires rendering and once rendered I just get a grey screen. I tried exporting the clip out of redrushes at the same resolution as my sequence (960 x 540) as a prores clip but this also requires rendering and once rendered I get pure grey.

So, is there a way for me to render out a file at 960 x 540 compressed with the REDCODE compression? I can't find that option in redrushes. Can anyone suggest any other work around other than rendering out all the footage to prores which isn't really an option for me at this stage.

Is there any way that I can apply effects to this footage? I just want to be able to punch in on a few things etc.

Also, when I take this across to colour I don't seem to be able to see anything in the viewer (scopes and preview are just black). Is this due to the redcode plugin or something?

Any help would be massively appreciative.

Cheers!
