Slow menu system

I did some searching and couldn't find any posts on the subject, please link if this topic has been discussed.

I've had 2 Ravens at the production company I work with for about 4-5 months now. I personally own a Scarlet-X and often use it along side the Ravens. I've noticed since day one of getting the Ravens the menu system is very slow compared to my Scarlet-X. I didn't think to much of it figuring the early firmware would be updated but the menus still crawl. It's very frustrating when you're moving fast on set and something as simple as a frame rate change delays the next shot.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a problem with the whole Weapon body line up?

I have a Raven and a Weapon and both exhibit the slow menu you describe but only during the first min. or less after powering up. Sort of laggy and delayed response on my touch screens. After 60 seconds or so all is fine and I have predictable response with the touch screens. If you continue always I would think that is a problem.

Hi Taylor, yes unfortunately the menu on both Ravens drags through the entire operation

I found that it's the temperature.
Probably when there is an automatic change in the black shade, the loading maybe takes a while and the camera lags.

Last time I felt like my menu system was sluggish, I did a camera wipe and it fixed everything. Just had to put my settings back in order. Also, try the menu system without media and check how it fairs. Sometimes I notice my camera's menus are a little laggy on power up, and also when my media is loading. A Secure Wipe of the card might help, if so. I know this sounds funny, but is pre-record on? That might tax the system a little bit as well.

Thanks Anthony, could you walk me through a secure wipe? No pre-record activated and I actually need to reset all settings pretty frequently, another annoying feature of the Raven. I don't think I would notice the lag so much but side by side my Scarlet-X is lightning fast

When you format the card, there is a utilities button. There you will find the secure format option.
