Slave camera Cf cards are filling up faster than master cam ?

I am shooting another 3D project, this time on the great ET 3D rig, but like the first time shooting 3D on Red, I noted that the slave camera CF card fills up 3 -4 % faster than the master camera CF card. Anyone aware of the cause of this ? (just out of curiosity) Build 21, 4K RC28

Stupid stuff first.....are you recording audio to one camera? maybe you have audio checked in the menu, even with no mic I think it still takes up space. Double check all your settings that affect data recorded.

other than that it should be really close.....

How are you starting /stoping the cameras?

We are using the remote start stop of the c-motion wireless FIZZ. I have noticed very small discrepancy.....one camera will have 51%left and the other 50%......

On a previous job we use Preston remote /start/stop and that worked but we had problems....one camera was cutting out early. Even hard wired! Maybe it was a bad cable....So far zero problems with the C-Motion.

But I'll pay attention on set today, let you know in 14hours or so what the result was......we have a long freakin day ahead of us.....

Nothing more than that.....hey it's a computer with a lens on it.....computers do weird shit ; )

Ok on set on a borrowed iPhone.

2 shots in a I have exact same amount on both cards.

You said "slave"...... Are you using USB master/slave mode and pressing one button?

That might be your problem right there.....

In my observations of both cameras media status today, it's seam to be pretty consistent.

When they are off, they are always about 1% off......never more than that.

yep, I am, however I still don't understand why that might fill one more up than the other, the shots are identical, right ?

the usb slave function has never worked well for me. I never use it...I pretty sure there is a delay....thereby giving you more data on one camera.......just a thought.....

FYI......one more 15hour day on set.....7 loads of 16gb cards......never more than 1% difference. In fact the 1% difference is totally consistent.
