  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Size matters?

Max output speed of 9.5fps is good too.

I love this part:
"Canon's newly developed CMOS sensor also incorporates a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) video output capability. The sensor can output Full HD video from any approximately one-sixtieth-sized section of its total surface area."

So, no aliasing, right? :P

What camera+lens system would this be used with?
Canon's, presumably.

It's just a crazy prototype though.

Size matters alright.

And how far are we from that read-out rate reaching 24fps at 120 MP? - yikes.

Not bad news for stills and time-lapse guys.

Where the heck is my Scarlet?

I'm not so sure why people think this is crazy... It's a glimpse of things to come. It's slightly larger than APS-H size, but smaller than full frame 35. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if a subsequent revision of this sensor makes its way into the 1Ds Mark VI or other such camera within the next couple years.

And if the lenses can keep up, the creative potential in these types of sensors could be staggering.
