Simple audio card recommendation

I got a Mac station with an Apollo twin. But the pc workstation I only have the built in audio on the motherboard. But I'm okay/was ok with that on that machine. But it have been alot of trouble with windows 10 and realtek drivers. I just cant get them to work anymore. Therefore I wonder if some one can recommend a "troulble" free simple audio card. Its a plus if its internal as I think usb is a piece of shit on pc (work good on Mac thoe).

Creative Labs Sound Blaster is the gold standard for PC audio cards. Pretty much all of their cards from the last 15 years work under Windows 10 and you can pick up the cheap OEM cards for hardly anything, though I don't know where you'd get them in your particular area. Unfortunately, the Professional versions have not been updated for Windows 10, but you can get by with the consumer models.

Have the Scarlet 18i20 myself running under windows 10.

First I was thinking something like the soundblaster card but perhaps its just better to stay external. It is very convenient.

Seams to stand between "Focusrite solo" and the "Audient id4"

How many conncections do you need? Do you need preamps to record? headpones and monitors or more to connect?
sorry for all the questions but it is very important to know what exactly you need to give you an advice!

I went with the Focusrite solo even thoe I think Audient id4 was little more appealing. The main thing here is constant and good audio drivers and focus rite suppose to be better at this.

Simon, I have an "audio station" with an apollo twin duo mk2 wich I'm happy with for audio recording. So Im not relying on the preamp in the focus rite. Its mostly just a sound card/playback device.

One thing I missed on focus rite solo is it has not got an on/off button. I really dislike this as I rather have less things on standby at the end of the day.
