Hi Peter,

Guten Rutsch und ein frohes Neues Jahr 2009.

Forever young :) !

P.S. Hope to meet you soon to exchange experience with R1...

Bonne année Sanjin,

I was looking to your optic test and I'm looking for a good 35mm 1,4 (or less) optic that could be mounted on a 5D MkII or later on a RED xxx camera. We now have a 85 1,4 leica R. It seams that the the Voigtlaedler 35 1,2 is a bit dated wide open (blurriness and CA on the highlights). We would like to purchase a summilux-r 35mm but it seams that the rear element would touch the 5D's mirror, perhaps not such a problem with the OLFP of the RED. Wich 35mm do you use for your setup?

Thanks Guru Sanjin and have a great 2009!

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

both Leica Summilux-R 35mm f/1.4 and Summicron-R 35mm f/2 are excellent lenses.

If you want faster then take Summilux-R 35mm f/1.4.

I do have Summicron f/2 for RED1 and Canon 40D.

It shouldn't be a problem with 5D's mirror if it's the same construction as a Canon 40D.

More good reading with Leica R lenses from Erwin Puts>>>

Cheers!

Hi Sanjin!

I also went out last night and shot some footage with available light, I will post soon...

Happy New Year!

Peter

Hi Peter,

unfortunately I didn't went out and my short clip is shot from a roof window.

Actually I wanted to go out and soot but after some drinks I gave up that idea

because didn't wont to put myself and RED1 in a risk of diverse moods of New Year's Eve "vandals" :) .
