Hello,
I wanted to try the Sigma Art autofocus control through the RTmotion sidekick control and here are my thoughts on my Weapon MG.
I've tested the 50mm and the 14mm AF.
- The motor of the lens are too loud for sound recording, you can hear the focus click noise on this sample shot with the internal camera mic.
- The lag of the focus is bigger than the one with the RTmotion motor on a manual lens (like 2 frames more lag).
- The focus parameter in the meta data are not precise goes for the 14mm from 1.1m to inf and for the 50mm from 6.9m to inf.
It's still handy and great for gimbal/drone work but not usuable as is on a shoulder shoot or documentary.
It's a bummer as autofocus on a good lens with the Kippertie Revolva would have been a killer combo.
I'll probably use Sigma mechanical lenses (not the same cost though)
