The Size and FL range/F stop lands it squarely into the 4/3 sensor size.
Don't forget Sigma invented 4/3" format. I hope I'm wrong. That lens and the OptiTron...
This would be major...

If it's 4/3" it's good for about 3K coverage on scarlet.
If it's M4/3" it won't fit on scarlet.

Great found. Will sure be keeping my eyes on this thread!

That is fantastic news!!!
I thought they were going to stop @2.8.
This lens replaces 3 primes!!!

I like the way Sigma is taking for it's new lenses.

The 18-35 is released under their A group which stands for "Art" along with the 30 and 35 mm f1.4 primes.
It seems pretty obvious that these won't be their last surprisingly high aperture lenses.

The 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM sounds like a beast, too.

Really interested to see how these perform in real life.

And then they have that USB dock which does not only promise firmware updates (this seems new for lenses) and also focus adjustments.
Sigma USB Dock
For our new product lines, we have developed exclusive SIGMA Optimization Pro software that allows the user to update the lens firmware and adjust focus position and other parameters. The user will be able to connect the lens to a computer with a special SIGMA USB DOCK and use easy-to-operate on-screen controls to create personal lens specifications. For Sports line lenses, the focus limiter will also be customizable.

It seems they are just getting started.

I had the 120-300. Fantastic lens. Extremely sharp. Extremely nice mechanics with large focus throw with very nicely damped feel. Completely elevated my opinion of Sigma. Sold it as it was a Canon mount and now I'm Nikon...
