Can anyone tell me if the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC is controllable on the Epic's Canon mount? I don't see it on any lists but I'm not sure if the lists are up to date or if it works even if not officially supported.

I'm thinking of replacing one of my Canon L series with this so any official or anecdotal info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I just got one and it turns out its not supported by the canon mount currently - so you're aperture is stuck at 2.8 and I don't think the stabilization is engaged.

Would love to see this lens supported in the future. But if not, I may have to switch to the canon 17-55.

Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 is basically the same glass as the RPZ 17-50mm or 18-50mm, just with a different housing?

Red 18-50 = Sigma 17 - 50mm

Don't replace an L for this! I owned it for a day, than returned it, badly made. Promising range, but....Replaced it with the Canon version, better, but after that I had it with still zooms for film.

Cinema rehousing. $$$$, otherwise everyone would have wonderful cheap sets of rehoused L glass right now.

I agree that L series is the best but my lens aperture isn't working with my Epic anymore. It works fine on my DSLR but I can't afford to replace it for the same lens when I can sell it for a "comparable" lens for half price.

Since a long time has passed, can someone please test this lens now and see if it works, and if the stabilization works?
