We are considering getting a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens for our Canon and Epic. Does anyone know if this lens is supported?
They have a sport version that is a bit nicer built but its 1kg heavier so this one sounds a bit nicer to carry around.
Currently we use Canon 70-200 2.8 II with 2x extender but the extender makes the images less sharp of course.

At a later point we would probably go all in and get a Canon 600 F4, but even though it would still be nice to have a zoom.
Cheers!

I don't know if it's supported, but I have the 150-500mm, which is quite nice... there's no auto-focus but the camera will read the electronic aperture.

When you first put the lens to the mount with an unsupported lens, it will ask if you want to build a custom calibration for the lens which is what, I think, activates the electronic aperture. But not the auto-focus functionality.

On these big bomb lenses, auto-focus always seeks pretty badly, so I don't find that I miss it. For sports or other fast-moving subjects, it can be a big help, but sometimes it seeks so mightily, it just gets in the way - so whether or not lack of auto focus is a drawback or not is a subjective thing. I'm not missing it. Best suggestion is to ask RED directly to support it - ask prettily, and they will often make it happen. Sometimes it's just a matter of their not knowing which of the many lenss are high priority to their users, with so many EF lenses out there.

We have the Sport version and it's awesome. Works great on our Epic Dragon.

That is great to hear Aaron. We are leaning a bit towards the sports version because it has better sharpness and is weather sealed. Also has a better focus from what I understand.
Bah, I want a Dragon too :D, a pity we missed the cheap upgrade.
