Hi,

I'm seeking for a solution for mounting the Red One in sideway to get vertical image. What kinds of mounting accessories do you guys use for this?
I've searched for L-mounts, and I found some pieces that are strong enough for DSLR cameras. I'm looking for a strong enough solution to hold a full Red One
set-up plus an Optimo 24-250mm.

Recommendations are much appriciated..

Best,

I use two Red side handles attached to the top and bottom rods on the non-connector side. Then an Element Technica cheeseplate (or similar) bolted through the larger holes (with washers if necessary) to those. And then the cheeseplate mounted on a tripod dovetail as normal.

The Red Pro 7" LCD on it's side works fine to monitor, although viewing angles feel a bit weird.

You can also use two Tango Heads in a pinch.

Very good idea.. simple as well. Thanks!

I've been using the Ringo Head 90 degree camera mount from Spider Support systems. It works great and easily handles the weight of the Red.

Awesome, Ken.. I think I found the winner :-)

I have a L plate from Modern Studio Equipment. I think it cost less than $100. I shoot sideways about once a month.
