I'm the kind of cinematographer that likes to go light, shoot everything run-and-gun handheld (no shoulder mount). I just like the neat angles you can get with a small rig. So here's my proposition, and I want to know how to work out a few of the kinks. I'll get the Scarlet, the 5in Touch LCD, the DSMC Tactical Cage, the DSMC Backpack (I think that's what it's called), a couple Red bricks and charger with the belt clip, and a top handle. My only problem is actually holding the thing. I really don't want the Side Handle battery deal, I think it looks ugly, adds too much width, etc. How would I go about mount the fixed handles to the side, to do more of a true cage rig? I can't seem to find what I need to mount them to the side of tactical cage. Maybe I'm missing something, but I could really use some help.
Thanks!!

Yeah, but how would you mount it?

Oh sorry. Forgot that link wont work here. Google bolt- on rosette (RED).
Also, you could mount a SWAT rail and use a sliding handle as a option.

I was thinking something more like what's shown in this pic from the RED homepage.

Good setup but be aware it is pricey .....by the time you add in DMSC top, ribs & sides plus the 2 handles.

However if you like the setup (similar to the pic) another option would be to have the DMSC top & then bold a nato rail on either side & mount the handles onto them directly. Avoiding the cost of the Ribs & sides.

P.S. using this method the camera will also sit better on flat surfaces.
