Side CF Module, was there a change in design?

I know that user buttons and a start stop record button was added to the CF card module, but at what point did the LCD/EVF input change to face the front?

Keep in mind, these are all photos not renders. I have looked all through both announcement feedback threads to find an answer but no luck so far.

Why did they change the direction of the port?

On a somewhat different note, will you need to attach the side CF Module to the brain by any cables to transfer data or is it already connected somehow on the side of the brain. I do not see a space for any more wires but I was just curious.

We change things all the time... hopefully for the better. The newer CF module has a run/stop button and user buttons added. The cable port now faces forward (as you accurately noted) to make cable routing much easier.

This might be the final version... who knows?

makes no difference to me really because I will likely be using the HDMI output on the brain (thank you so much for that) for my monitor.

I guess it makes sense, as now the port for the brain and the port from the back of the EVF/LCD are now forward facing. If the brain port was facing away from the lens, the cable would have to make 2 twists to fit in the back of the EVF port.
