  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Side by side

Side by side rigs will not be very useful for normal professional shooting. Typical 3D camera interaxial distances are .25 to 3 inches. You will want to vary Interaxial and you will want to go to distances less than Scarlet sized parallel camera rig would allow, which I would guess is around a minimum of 4 inches.

Parallel rigs can and are used for occasional shots where there is no close object in the field of view of the the camera - by close think 25-100 feet.

Hope this helps.

That depends on what you consider "small enough".

About the width of a business card when I measured back at Red day. The boys are correct in that you'll spend a lot of time requiring less than 2.5" spacing between cams.
Yesterday my subject was 6 ft from camera, what felt the most comfortable was a distance less than an inch and a half.

Looks like the optical distance is less than 1.2 inches - that's why I thought it could work.
