SICORE Engine error while using Metafuze

I've installed Metafuze 1.2 on the Symphony side of a DS/Symph dual boot system. I've tried running some R3D files through just for some test runs. I'll set the transcode for a DNxHD 175 output, set a destination, and hit transcode. After several attempts, I pretty consistently get a SICORE engine error.

Anyone else experience this? Is there some incompatibility with 1.2 and a symphony box or did I do something wrong during the installation?

Julio

It's an HP8200 running Windows XP service pack 2, 2.5Gbs of RAm.

I'm working off the Symphony side of a dual boot set up. That version is 1.7.7, although it's not being run at the time of the error.

Hmm, not sure.
I've had issues running MetaFuze on the DS side. You're not supposed to run DS and MetaFuze on the same system. The Redwrapper.dll gets unregistered in one or the other. But regardless, that's not a Sicore engine error. I'll ask around and see if anyone knows regarding Symphony, or maybe Michael P can chime in.

Thanks, Forrest.

Anyone else have this problem or have I created something new and unique here? :)

MetaFuze and DS are not supported on the same system at this time - is that the issue?

Michael

Hi Michael, he's trying to run it on the Symphony drive, not the DS side. As a note, we have MetaFuze running on one of our Media Composer Adrenalines on an 8200 and also on a 9300 with Symphony 1.8/dualboot and it works fine.

OK - I have it running with my Media Composer/Sympony as well with no problems. I can't think of what the issue might be for this particular install...

Michael

Sorry guys! I was out of the office for a few days. Thanks for confirming it's not a system conflict. I'll just try a re-install 1.2 and keep at it from there.

Julio

I am having the same issue, Using dual boot system installed metafuze on symphony xp 32bit side of 8400 and when I scan folders I get the following error "Softimage SICORE Engine has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Any thoughts?

OK,
so here is what I found.. Quicktime version has to be 7.4.5, Having an older system (qt 7.3) Is what caused the crash. All well now.

Nice catch! I haven't even had a chance to try and re-install since RED's something I get to work on with only in between paid gigs. That'll save me some heartache...

Yup, good to know.. of course the avid symphony nitris we have is only supposed to run qt 7.3.. Go figure.
