The shutter effect in the EVF is a lot stronger than on the RED-LCD. Is there any chance to change this ?

Would opengate help in this situation?

Thx guys ! Tested it today... works on 4k 2:1 25fps.... :)

Can somebody describe what the open gate function exact does...??

The Information in the manual is not that big, exepting that the sensor is read with double speed
displayed....

Basically an electronic shutter doesn't have a real blanked period, as you cannot stop integrating but just have the ability to reset/readout.
25 fps with a 180° shutter is actually "50 fps" with 360° shutter, whith every other frame discarded. Open gate shows you both these "frames".

The "shutter" effect meaning the motion stutter effect I assume.

Its there because the EVF is a very fast display, it does not blur the frames, as all LCD displays tend to do.

Mitigation - Try turning EVF to SYNC mode rather than FIXED, and the other thing you can try is to enable OPEN GATE. That makes the refresh rate from the sensor to the monitors run at double frame rate. Then the camera throws away every other frame for the purpose of recording.

Thanks for the explanations... it is a good solution for getting a smooth picture when paning... in normal 25fps - 4k 2:1 - 1/50 shutter....
