  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shut up and shoot that RED (NSFW)

#275 and #284 are wonderful. You occasionally have a similar shooting style to mine. Translation: I must be doing something right!

EDIT: Quick question. Some people claim that you need to blackshade every day. I doubt that this is true but I'd like to know your take on it.

Hi Karim.

Haven't blackshaded since I installed new firmware, which is a loong time ago....

But I would need to, if I was to shoot long exposures. Or really fast slomo.

Usually do neither....

Thanks Gunleik for relaxing my thoughts on Black Shading.
I was under the impression that this should be done daily.

Your work just boggles my mind.
You really should do a photo book and break down your shoots.
I would buy it.

I would buy it also. Thanks for your posts Gunleik, I've learned a lot from looking at your compositions and your thoughts about the Red.

Some absolutely beautiful work in this thread, Thank you for starting it and leading the way Gunleik! I am very technically inclined, having worked as a video engineer, and relate to you in many ways. It's about time to start focusing on the artistry and less on the tech. Focusing on the tech, for me, came naturally out of observing the technical limitations of the current gear and trying to find efficient workarounds. But like you said, camera technology has come such a long way, it's time to just shut up and shoot! really inspiring photo study work, btw. very emotional

Thanks Daniel, and I totally can relate to that path.

I started off with shooting (and have ever since), but got a bit derailed by technical issues that had to be "fixed".

But now...

Dunno. If I cannot do with the Epic...
