Curious to hear what my fellow users are using for shoulder rigs? I've looked at everything from WC to Mantis to RED (Clutch) to Shape and want to hear what people like the most? Personally, I believe the most important factors are balance, weight and that the camera sits on the shoulder, not in front of you.

I love my Zacuto recoil (arri has a similar but it's $$$ I suppose)

With custom made shouder pad

and with the blackmagic modded EVF

Perfectly ballanced on the shoulder (I can take my hands off the camera and it sits ballanced).

An early handheld rig attempt from me. This setup can take a much heavier payload and monitors and wireless bits and pieces.

I bought the basic dovetail rig (Korean ripoff of the standard WC-style dovetail rig) from ebay for £75 and replaced the shoulder pad with Zacuto QR pad, and handles with Smallrig ones. Smallrig dovetail clamp.

The movcam mattebox has rosettes too so handles can go straight on there and the shoulder pad attach directly via arca swiss plate for a lighter rig.

Top handle and top plate both temporary solutions.

I can strongly recommend the Allstar Cine shoulder pad as its extremely comfortable and its width means the camera doesnt wobble. I don't understand why nobody else makes them like this. Also you can get the weight of the camera on or behind your shoulder. This rig is a mix with wooden camera and ET.
