Should Nikons click into place?

Hi folks,
I just got my RED and am very happy with the pictures I'm getting with the Nikon lenses, quite incredible really.
I had RED put the Nikon mount on for me, but the lenses don't seem to "click" into place as they do on a Nikon DSLR. Is this normal or am I just not tightening them enough to the point where they do click? I don't want to overtighten and damage anything as a result. The pictures are extremely sharp and testing them on a Putora 7A9 chart they appear to resolve perfectly, just this one little bugaboo had me concerned.

Thank you,

Paul

I noticed the same thing, it's a tight fit. At first, I didn't turn the lens far enough. The way I know it's far enough is to just watch the release tab, it will spring forward when it engages the detent on the lens. It doesn't make the click sound, just springs forward.

I was in the same boat for a while recently as I was being so very gentle with the new camera. As I got a little more comfortable, I found myself applying just a bit more rotational pressure and low-and-behold, the lenses click into place.

Enjoy your extraordinary new camera!

As David said. My Zeiss ZFs need a little more twist in order to click into place.
