Should I care if my Cannon lens is imported?

I see a lot of Canon Cn-e lenses new on Ebay for a good price and noticed they all say imported. Does that matter? Effect warranty etc? Quality? I seem to remember in my still photo days buying L glass I had the choice at my local camera store or they told me it was a USA lens or something like that. The main place I saw selling them says ships from New Jersey and they have them in stock.

The imported CNE lenses are great to purchase from Canada, and I've seen some coming from Asia and Australia too.

i would worry less about Warranty and more about insurance coverage on a set like this, and if you are a CPs (canon pro service) member , I doubt they would deny you cleaning, service, etc.

i have my wife bring her canon lenses to NAB with us every year for the free cleaning and service check ;)

That is good info. I decided to call Canon and they confirmed that the warranty is just for the country the lens was intended to be sold in. ie if a lens was destined for Germany and was sold in the USA in a German box the warranty would have to be serviced in that country. They would still work on it in the USA plant for repairs but you would just have to pay for the repairs even if they were warranty repairs within the first year.
