im not really a camera operator although i have done some work here and there mostly i produce and manage a small production company so here is my question

all the reality show work ive done i used sony xdcam ex1 and so far theses cameras have worked great im looking to upgrade to XDCAM f330 i can get a good deal on a few of these so i would like some input. has anyone use these cams for this type of work? hows the workflow is it really worth it to upgrade frm the EX1 cameras

any advice would be good thanks a lot

Don't shoot reality tv... My advice.. ;-) sorry..

Why not use the XDCam for story/scene coverage and an Epic or Scarlet for Specialty?

I worked on an adventure reality show for the month of April as cam op. We shot 2 Scarlets with Canon S16 zoom @2k for story/scene coverage (LOOKED GREAT, I know plenty here will cry foul) and Super speeds at 4k for wide and specialty shots. DP shot on EPIC shooting specialty. Shooting a majority of the story at 2k kept our daily GB shot per day down.
