Shotgun Mount

I am going to be doing a lot of EFP style shooting with my RED. Any thoughts or posts on how to mount my shotgun mic to the camera?

You should be able to get a 1/4" to camera shoe adapter and a camera shoe to shock mount adapter. Screw that rig into the top mount and slide your mic in the shock mount.

Any little rig that gets a boom pole shock mount on your camera will do it.

I've attached mics using the monstercine grip and some parts from guitar center. It works like a charm.

Any side mount for mike will work.
Hard hookup will pass too much mechanical noise from the camera.

An Israeli Arm would also work as long as it has 3/8" on one end and 1/4" on the other. There are a ton of ways to mount the Softie.

You'd need 1/4" threaded rod so one side could be screwed into the top mount and the other into the hot shoe extension. I think this product is the same one Andrew is using in his pic. Or very similar.
