I'm going to be going to the Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas next weekend and I'm going to be bringing my scarlet to capture the event. I'm looking to get a shotgun microphone and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to what to get? I also have the Clutch rig, so perhaps something that I can attach to that. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Rode NTG-2 is great for the price, and uses an AA battery in case you have issues with Phantom.. you'll need the proper cable to go from xlr to the Scarlet mini in.. or just buy an A-box from Wooden Camera...

Bring along a boom op to position the microphone with a boom pole, and get it as close as possible to your interview subjects. You may need a more substantial windscreen for certain rooms (air conditioning vents, etc.) in some cases.

I would strongly advise recording the sound on an external recorder, and use the camera sound only as a backup.

Use a boom op as suggested. Audio is really important and the worst place to place a microphone is usually on camera. You have a really nice camera so do it justice by inputing some good audio.

Thanks everyone for your input and advice. It is much appreciated.
