LOL. If I am using my boom pole I do have a boom operator though. That's why I was asking about a mount for my camera so when I do not have a boom operator.

Exactly. I'm not saying this is a substitute for a boom pole or operator, but in situations where when I'm by myself and don't have that luxury. It's a compromise for sure.

What I don't understand is how, if the talent is 12 feet away and moving, a mic on the camera captures their dialogue properly. I was a mixer/boom operator for years and I can't think of any shoot where that would have worked or where the producer would accept that material. Also, you say you use a camera mic when YOU can't have a boom operator....when does a DP need a boom operator? Is that not part of the Sound Department? Does the Sound Mixer need a focus puller? So confused by the new world of RED where the DP must now do all the jobs on set in addition to their own. When I DP it's absolutely full time; no booming, no make up, no craft services, etc. I leave that to the people hired to do those things - guess I'm old school in that regard. Crazy, new, upside-down production world the RED camera has brought us! :)
