Wanted to try out 120fps on my Scarlet so I shot our agency party video on it. I probably wouldn't shoot at this resolution for a film but for something that's for fun and lives on the web, it wasn't too shabby.

PS - This was a thank you video to our clients & crew who attended our charity fundraiser (and who were brave enough to perform some nutty manoeuvres in the midst of a party!).
PS2 - This was the teaser/invite that we sent out (Shot at 60fps & 120fps) - https://vimeo.com/67267276

loved both of them really well done! Mind if I ask what lenses you used for them?

Thanks Chris!
Because of the insane crop factor at 1K I used the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8.

ah ok, I've been using the 8mm Rokinon Cine Lens for anything Slow Motion everything is really soft wide open with it so I've mainly used it for outside shooting when ever i need slow motion shots. Need to really invest in a different lens for lower resolutions I think.

I hear ya man. I used the Rokinon 14mm on a 2k slow mo shot and it looked super soft wide open (and grainy but we had to bump the ISO up to 1600). I've been meaning to do more tests with those Rokinon lenses but for now it seems like they are great when used at 4k, but not so much in crop modes. The shot in question is here - https://vimeo.com/52870578 (at 0:55).

Ah I see what you mean, here's a short test I did with my flex dolly track I just got a few weeks ago I did, all the slow motion shots I did with my 8mm outside did a tiny bit of post sharpening on the 1kWS footage but still eh with the results with it being soft..

Good work Navin - I've used the 120fps 1KWS with the Scarlet on a couple of jobs that were being delivered to smartphone apps. I was pretty happy with the results, and there was nothing but smiles from the client.
Here's an example: https://vimeo.com/album/2234844/video/55641837 These were all shot on 18, 25, or 50mm RPP's

I took a look at the stadium website - strange how I've worked in this town for so long and haven't stumbled across you guys. Get in touch if you ever need anything...

Blowing up 1KWS to a 2K timeline will always be soft - should have gone the other way and been happy with an overall 720 delivery.

Cool stuff! I actually had a Vesper martini at the TIFF Lightbox during the Bond marathon last year!

Whereabouts in Toronto are you located? studio m (although stadium is an equally cool name ;) often hires freelance shooters and editors.

Damn auto correct! Changed StudioM to stadium… I live / have a small kitchen studio out in Ajax. but shoot & work all over the GTA. In the last year I've shot in Mexico, Costa Rica, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau. Worked a fair bit with Bob Gundu who's here on the boards.

We should meet-up - Sent you a PM

Quite true, but it was still soft at the 1kWS timeline as well no where near as sharp as what you posted. I just need to face that I need a new lens for anything below 2k, I've been saving up for some PL glass and Mount don't know what to go with though. Still plenty of time though trying to save so I can just buy a whole set at once

Good glass is definitely vital for the 1K stuff. Glen's video looked good shot at 1K with RPP's.
I'm curious to see what my Contax Zeiss looks like at 1K. I'll post a sample when I get time to do a test. Perhaps a comparison with Canon L.
