Could you get me the original resolution this picture was taken in?

I have it as my desktop now, and would like a better quality pic. Thanks!

I KNEW IT!

Exactly one year ago today (which is bizare) I said Jannard had a time machine which he used to seed the project! Turns out he likes Johnny enough to go film a 40 year old show in 4k for future generations, DESPITE the risk to the time space continuum.

For shame Jim, think if the consequences of your actions. You'll surely run out of plutonium and we'll all be boned.

Jim have you ever considered producing your own feature or maybe a short ? I'm sure the talented team you have there at red could do something on the side ...do you know of anyone there involved in any productions ?

Stay Red,
Khristian

Are you more of the Director or DP type? I heard you're a cinematographer in you're own right. Are you more narrative, documentary, events (x-treme sports, etc.)? You should go for it and let us know. You'd get huge support from all of us wanting to pitch in, etc. :)

"Works in Progress" wraps shooting this week.

"Works in Progress" wraps shooting this week.

Our two RED indie feature, "Works in Progress" (originally titled "Tossed and Found"), wraps on Thursday. I can't wait to sit back and relax again. This indie feature has been a lot of very hard work!

A lot of you saw a rough cut of our first eight minutes on Vuze.com. That site is:

You should add "Kenny Begins" to that list... swedish sci-fi comedy based on a TV-series from the 90's.

You can see a trailer here...

It is still stunning to me how quickly the RED has been adopted as a true viable alternative to 35mm, and how it has left HD in the dust when it comes to a top end cinematography choice - In my travels I interact with Ad Agencies, Production companies, Movie and TV Studios on a daily basis, and these days their logic is either RED or Film for almost every gig - nice company to be in.

Thanks to everyone here on the following pages for posting all the various jobs - I have a lot of them on my running list, but learned of many more just from seeing these new posts. We will be referencing these jobs in a fun way at IBC and beyond.

Also, for those that are not aware - we are collecting footage now for a new reel we are putting together:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16831

We are in the final stages of submissions, but can potentially sneak in a few more if we get them in time. To be part of the reel, we need the original R3D media, and the online or offline cut if you have it.

I also use commercials, trailers and short sequences from time to time in various presentations throughout the world, so can use any spots, trailers, scenes, etc. you are particularly proud of - (we can take that material as 1080p or 2k ProRes QT's or on D5 or HDCAM SR tape to use.

I love showing off the great work that the RED community is turning out, less than 1 year in the shipping life of the RED ONE... so bring it on, and we'll show it to the world, on big screens.

I think he likes it.

I think he likes it.

This is an email from a DP friend of mine working with the RED for the first time on a National Lampoon film:

Scott,

After week one I cannot say how incredibly awesome this camera is. Simply amazing. We have beat it up outside all day, and it has never crashed. We are shooting three cameras and no crashes. The range is staggering, the color saturation is amazing, the slow mo is sweet and I cannot brag on it enough. I am sold. Thank you for the info.

Is that the same Jon Darbonne from Houston, TX? If so, a friend of mine worked as a grip with that guy many many years ago on a project. I really liked his camera work. I was trying to get that guys rate info in case I ever got a gig after I get my camera. He's the only DP whose name I know of locally, but it looks like he's not local anymore.
