  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SHOT ON RED OSCAR NOMS

Yes big congrats to all involved, and I have the feeling this list is going to be doubling or tripling in the next 1-2 years :)

Excellent news... save the EPIC FAIL of excluding Dale Dickey from Winter's Bone

Not an actress in Hollywood that could pull that performance off. Was like they grabbed an appalachain meth addict from the woods and put her in the movie.

WINTER'S BONE HAS MY VOTE FOR BEST PICTURE and was 100% SHOT ON RED with no real names to speak of

LONG LIVE INDIE FILMS !

The fact that Winter's Bone and Social Network are both shot on RED and OSCAR nominated perfectly sums up the impact RED is having on the industry. One a first film with tiny budget and the other a well known and well funded film by an established Director.

I didn't know 'In a Better World' was shot on Red. Of course Morten Søborg the DOP also shot 'Valhalla Rising' on Red, so I should have seen it coming.

It's fun to see the amount of Red shot films increase each year.

This list will be getting longer every year, I have a feeling.

If you could make a real analysis about a system that was used to shoot this year Academy Award Nominees

then you would conclude that RED is the most accepted digital cinema system and the rest is just the films shot

probably on 35mm, s16mm, 65mm and with some small shots on DSLRs.

This really tells a lot!!!

That is one HELL of an accomplishment only three and a half years since the camera was first released!

35 mm took about 35 years to get into the same position... (we don´t really need to mention that the oscars wasn´t around when it was invented, now do we?)

Exciting times! I am pretty sure there will be even more next year!

I know because I was asked DIT the film. For various reasons I had to turn down the job - though right now I'm thinking I'd love to have worked on an Oscar nominated movie. Would've looked pretty good on my resumé ;-)

I know we'd all love to see RED win a technical Oscar and I'm sure they will at some point, but watching those nominees called out the other day must have brought an even bigger smile to Jim's face. It's one thing to make the tool. It's quite another to see people use it to make something worthwhile. I would guess that is where the greatest satisfaction is.

The cinema world is now noticing the product. I hope that they will soon appreciate the tools that Red has created.

That's what I figured, and what a shame. But for the record never say no to a project, Anders Thomas Jensen some way or the other is involved in. That man is oscar-material.

Well - there were various "circumstances" that made it impossible for me to accept their terms, so... ;-)
