With increasing use of Red cameras in the stereoscopic 3D space, I figure we may as well have a single place by which to showcase and find all the native 3D works, so that people who have 3D viewing equipment can easily find a bunch of things to watch in one location.

So if you have any stereoscopic Red 3D works you'd like to showcase, please post below!

Cheers from San Francisco,

Paul :)

Stereoscopic 3D music video - Frankie Braggadocio "Love Killer" (EXPLICIT)

Hi all,

I recently completed a 3D music video shot on our Epic stereo 3D rig in Japan for up and coming rap artist Frankie Braggadocio called "Love Killer":

It was designed to be viewed primarily in 3D so I highly recommend watching it in that format if you can. If you don't have a 3D monitor you can click on the "3D" button (visible below the video once you select Play) and select an anaglyph mode if you have a pair of those old red/cyan glasses lying around, or you can select regular old 2D mode to watch it if you have no other 3D viewing method available to you!

As always, comments, questions and criticisms are gratefully accepted.

Enjoy!

Paul :)

...and here's the Behind The Scenes video of the production, showing off a lot of the 3D rig and just how small it is!

Enjoy!

While watching the Youtube, I kept trying to adjust the quality setting to get a clear picture.

Hi Paul, I must agree with Les. I see that "hazy" look everyday from from non sharpened footage, looks nice in 2D, just doesn't do it for me in 3D. I always apply the "sharpen" filter (approx 30 or 40) before my final render to sbs mp4 for upload to youtube. The difference is substantial and definitely enhances the 3D.
Is that vignette from cineform? Only saw that the other day in GoPro Studio, doesn't seem to be in FirstLight.

Hi guys, thanks for your questions and feedback :)

Felix, I had some battery powered lights to help the darker areas of the abandoned town buildings, and the bar at the beginning was lit with a few small tungsten lights for highlights and fill.

Les and Mark, the look was actually done in post-production. I added some haze/glow as well as the vignette using Magic Bullet Looks. It was an artistic choice but the point is taken about it making the look a little more analogue and hence not as sharp.

One problem with YouTube and side by side 3D is that the maximum upload resolution is 1920x1080 for 3D material, so we lose half the horizontal resolution when playing back.

Cheers!

Paul :)
