Maybe I'm mistaken, but wasn't it somewhere a "shot on RED" badge to put to your credits..? I've tried the search - no luck.

Maybe a more specific badge like Shot on Red - Build 15 considering there are big differences in the upcoming 16 and the previous builds. I was thinking we don't want some older footage "misrepresenting" the new stuff that will be coming out. :)

Build 16 isn't RED ONE out of beta, it's really RED TWO with a big misleading ONE sign on the side, with a released SDK, a ton of apps supporting REDRAW natively off the shelf (except FCP I suspect...) paving the way for Scarlet which will make everyone and his grandmother "Understand RAW" :)

Maybe something like this (and this is a sketch!)

Who wants subtle? This is RED! :)

Different camera, different philosophy, different attitude!

The other logos are so common and subtle I barely notice them in the credits. I WANT people to get slapped in the face by the logo to remind them that they just witnessed a part of the revolution for themselves.

For me that is best told with the buzzsaw variant.... :)

Cheers,

Paul

I agree, but I can also see trouble to have the badge in the credits, if the director is not so in love with RED as we are.

oh man.

you should have typed this all in caps, quadruple exclamation points, and full of curse words.

when the technology outweighs the story, it makes me concerned.
subtle is elegant and attractive. Loud, bold and ugly is the drunk uncle at the party with a touching problem.

People also note where this logo would go in the credits....the people that wait that long to see it are not going to care one way or the other about the logo. Sure a director can care a producer can care, but in the end does it mater. People who care will know, regardless of the logo or not. As for me, the logo goes as in in full glory, regardless.

Shot on Build 16- that would be kinda like saying yes I am a big camera nerd(and proud). :construction: :construction: :construction:

Amen- if they folks are cheering for your shot on red logo in the credits rather than the awesomeness of your story what's the point???

Maybe they do both :usd:

RED and all RED owner will benefit of any RED logos in the credits features and shorts. I think we will have good use of a more "subtle" logo which not compete with production companys logos.

Oh, I'm all for subtle when it comes to the movie itself, but as noted above, those who sit through the credits usually have more than a passing interest in who and what was behind the lens. For them I think the current Red logos are a great addition (and may well come as a nice surprise to lots of people if you grade it properly such that they think it was shot on film).

You're totally right though when you say that story should be paramount. My movies aren't hyper-frenetic sick-o-vision extravaganzas, they are measured and thoughtful. But when it's logo time at the end of the credits, you better believe I'm going to wow people with the fact it was "Shot On Red". The movie's over at that point.

Cheers!

Paul
