Parallel to NAB 2015, in Cannes/France one of the world's most important film rights markets MIPTV did show a few new developed tv series that might become the next big thing.
In the big Palais des Festivals Cinema they did premiere the first episode of the new "Texas Rising" western series, including guest appearances of some of the starring actors (Bill Paxton, Ray Liotta, Brendan Fraser etc). Apparantly "Texas Rising" has been shot in 6K on Dragon and it will air for the first time on History Channel at Memorial Day (25th of May).

The great 4K Image quality on the huge screen of the Palais made me wonder if it would have made a difference to shoot in more than 6K. In some corners of some scenes you could experience the typical Dragon grain. Story and color grading are a question of taste, other than that it was a great cinematic Red experience!

A lot of my friends/colleagues worked on campaign. Can confirm it's def all shot 6K Dragon - as were all the promos!

I'm assuming they shot on Lowlght OLPF...they started shooting quite a while back.

They also shot widescreen - not 16x9 as most broadcast cable does - for the epic "Western" feel.
