  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shot on Canon EOS 5D Mark 2

Excellent!

A big competitor to Scarlet (and we still don't know the Scarlet's brand new specs).

hey david.. when someone like you is coming here posting something about a new camera it is why something is changing out there.. btw.. i thought this subforum says shot on red.. mr land will not like it.. :bye2: do not count on that.. :gun:

Someone needs to hack this thing like the DVX100 andromeda mod. Record a data stream of 24p RAW files, imagine...

Yeah.

This thing has potential. I'd like to see more to know if the jello effect is a deal killer. 24P and XLR inputs would have been really impressive.

Jello does not seem to be the problem. I'm more worried about how the sensor downsamples and reads out the 1080p video. There were some bizarre diagonal artifacts on one video of a moving train. If color sampling is 4:2:0, that could be an issue. Also, the lack of 24p, the lack of overcranking, etc.

I wonder if the Scarlet/DSMC will look like that picture? Small Camera with Big Accessories?

The FF and matt box look kind of silly, defeats the whole point of the camera. Can't wait to see what Jim and company unleash.

I guess i will happen anyway next year with 1DS4 or so... Also Canon is working on a medium format camera and even if i know it
is not going to be for tomorrow, i can not stop dreaming of that :)

Competition is great anyway, i'm lookin forward 13th nev now to see what Red is cooking for us... :)

Video looks good, but hard to say for sure without seeing a high-res original before being vimeo-butchered.

The 5DM2 looks interesting, but all my still lenses are Nikon... If I can't shoot 24fps in RAW, it's a no-deal for me anyway. And I'll see what the Scarlet announcement brings.
