Shortcut for Stop Record and Start Prerecord

Hiya,
I was wondering if there is a shortcut for Stop Record AND Start Prerecord instantly.

The problem we have currently while filming wildlife is we have it on "always use pre record"
1 - Animal does nothing so I press stop record
2 - It takes a few seconds to stop
3 - I press Record trying it to enter Pre Record, but its still trying to stop so nothing happens
4 - I press again Record. Ops now it turns on record since it had detected that I had pressed pre record
5 - Now I need to stop record since nothing is happening
6 - Arg the animal did something interesting and I missed it.

So basically if I could just do a macro of the 2 buttons this would fix the problem. Stop and Instantly start Pre-Record.

I have run into this scenario several times too. Can be quite frustrating when it happens.

Believe that the cause is that the cache needs to be cleared before it can be filled again.
In other words, it cannot pre-record and clear its memory simultaneously.

Quite likely embedded in the recording system logic.
If it is possible to override, might take a firmware tweak.
Definitely worth suggesting such to RED as a future improvement.

Also, it would be great if we could get Record:Cancel back. It used to be possible to cancel pre-record without writing the file. This saved space. I believe this option was removed a few fw updates ago.

Seconded enthusiastically. I'm late to the party, didn't know that was a thing at one point.

Agreed, the current implementation is clunky and single touch solution would be pretty nice.
