  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shooting Vertically

This is a JPEG example panorama reduced to from 3887 pixels high to 1080. The original print size is 13"x57". It was created with Scarlet mounted on the contraption above (post #30) using a Tamron 24-70 @ 24mm, f2.8 & 1/8 sec.

I think you may have to click on this image and then click on the hosted image to see a larger, scrollable version.
That looks awesome Curtis.

I just bought the tactical top plate and 2 tactical rips. This way, I can always mount the camera vertical and is the least space consuming of all, because I never remove it.
If anybody is looking for a vertical bracket for the RED ONE, PM me, I have a custom build for sale.

If you have the Viewfactor FMJ top/bottom then the side rail/handles allow you to mount a QR plate directly to the side.
Voilla! Vertical camera.

This is kinda what I do, only I simply mount a second tripod head plate on the side of the camera (to the VF side cheese plate), release whole rig from the tripod, rotate and snap back in place, simple.
