hi all

we are preparing for a studio shoot on green screen, we are lighting under tungsten.

I have done a few shoots with the red for keying and not and have not heard this, but maybe I miss it, which is possible

our DOP off the cuff has told us

"that due to the Red being setup for out door, shot under tungsten will change the color of the green screen dramatically unless we use type of correction filter"

can any one give me further info on this rather than the second, third hand info I am getting on this..

regards

Hey Adam,

It is best to shoot with an 80B or 80C filter under tungsten for the shoot. I had a greenscreen shoot a month or so ago and we found it keyed out really well under the circumstances. Be prepared to lose a stop or 2 with the filter.

Hi Justin

Thank you for the info, I plan to upload the some of the shots when done and will up date as to how the shoot goes.

I bought an 80C for this purpose too.

However, I have heard that this is a bit of a "non issue" with green screen and B17 though. Worth a test if the 1 stop light loss is gonna kill ya.

Keep us posted.

Guys,

I've done greenscreen with Kino 'plus green' tubes, tungsten and daylight. Good results with all, build 17, build 16 and build 15. Never used an 80c on any.

Done bluescreen also under same conditions as above, output to Pro Res at 1080P, keyed composited then graded on Da Vinci 2k. No problems either.

Tests and then paying gigs.

Interesting. I assume you used "super blue" tubes with the blue screen and not the "super greens"?

Dylan,

Yeah, blue with blue, green with green. Tungsten with blue and green, daylight with blue and green

All keyed well and used in broadcast output.
