Hello everyone.

We're shooting a street art competition tonight and I was wondering if there are any risks involved when changing lens or just being within close proximity of someone pumping spray paint into a wall for 2 hours inside a warehouse. I just found out last night that the designated area for us is quite close to the artists. My imagination may be getting the best of me when I think that the paint particles may damage the lens or camera.

Thanks in advance :)

Overspray goes everywhere. I would move away to a clean area to change lenses and use a screw on clear flat or UV filter to protect front elements. This is the kind of situation where a good zoom is worth its weight in gold.

That's for sure, there are tons of tiny particles (sometimes your skin even feels sticky).

Or keep a heavy duty plastic bag to put over the camera for lens swaps.

You don't want to get the overspray on the camera anyway, so watch out.
