Hey guys,

I'm shooting some commercials that need to be the POV of a character in various situations. I've shot something similar a couple of years ago and we used a Scarlet with a 14mm on it and while the set up was cumbersome, the results were pretty nice!

So we're doing it again but we want to do something similar to that short film "Random Stop". They used a really cool Radiant Imaging set up, but we can't afford that unfortunately. I've bene looking at the GoPro4 w/Back Bone and a wide lens for it which looks attractive (and low priced).

Other options are a BMPC or a Sony A7.

Anyone have experience doing this? Thoughts?

Hey Brandon, the guys who shot Random Stop used the Novo 2K with Kowa c-mount lenses and a custom helmet from Radiant Images. The Novo 2K is nice because it shoots uncompressed and makes a great image. The Codex Action cam is also very nice but probably just as or more expensive. I know the guys just shot another POV project with the Sony A7S and really liked the outcome. The Novo, IO 4K, Indiecam and Black Magic Pocket Cam are lightweight and good options also.

This is a BETA RED EPIC DRAGON POV setup. Yes it is a little bit heavy.......

Ha! That's brilliant Martijn.
