I am Shooting in a pool i need a splash-bag or housing for EPIC today if possible
Is there anybody in the LA area who has one for rent / trade / borrow / purchase?

I just need something that will protect from water splash not necessarily submerging.
If it allows me to submerge even better but for now just a way to help me protect it somewhat is what i really need.

ill be in the swimming pool with the camera above water
any kind of advice would be appreciated.

thanks
Luis

Last resort, go get yourself a small fish aquarium, put plastic with bungee over the top.

I did say last resort . . .

any rain slicker should do the trick. you can ghetto one with some plastic bags. take a clear small garbage bag, place it strait over the camera, poke a small hole in front and stretch it over the front of the lens so only the lens element is exposed. your hands go up and under and voila, a makeshift rain slicker

I shoot above and under the water line all the time! I have used every contraption you can think of including aquariums. Do yourself a favor and rent/buy a proper housing. The best advise is that unless you are sure footed (both feet on the bottom of the pool) achieving neutral buoyancy and knowing your gear (housing controls) makes all the difference!!! PRACTICE and assistants!!! Besides the Gates for deep dives (anything over 20ft) I regularly use Michael Hasting's very light PV tube housings for surface work. I have always wanted to try a bag that was readily available a couple of years ago for the RedOne but never did.

Good Luck,
Prio

DeepX

DeepX

Let me know how can I help.

You can pick up your brand new DeepX from BandPro Burbank today. No waiting.

We have a range of sealed lenses that will work with DeepX above water, like the Nikonos LW-28mm, 35mm and 80mm, which we can include in the package. DeepX is the only housing that uses optics that out-resolves the Epic sensor underwater, but it is also the only housing that you do not need to open in order to change lenses!

For a fellow Reduser I can even personally talk to Nir to give you a good price on the entire package.
