  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Shooting for irregular aspect ratio (80x27 or almost 3:1) for a 6400x2160 screen

I'm trying to get an opinion on what will work better overall for post workflow concerning this, hopefully somebody can give me an opinion

Have to fit what is essentially a 3:1 aspect ratio monitor with as good a shot as possible. However the Dragon falls short of the quite proper 6400 (at only 6144). Anamorphic would cover the whole monitor when desqueezed, but since there will be no letterboxing I'm quite worried that the image degradation will be noticeable.

Opinions between doing a 6K WS slightly resized to 6400 as opposed to something like 5K 2:1 ana resized? My guess is 6K WS blown up a bit will be much better. Would there be a best pixel crop before expanding in order to take advantage of the maths behind it?

Why not shoot at 6k WS or 2:1 and make a custom frame guide for 3:1?

I did mention shooting 6K WS and resizing, I'm mostly positive that it will be better than shooting anamorphic. But I also want to throw out this line to see if someone has a superior idea to anything I've written.
