Shooting Anamorphic with Red

I am looking to shoot anamorphic on the Red in my next project - but I just want to know: Do anamorphic converters on top of spherical lenses yield the same anamorphic artefacts (horizontal lens flare, etc) as real anamorphic lenses (like the HAWK ones?)

The short answer...No. I have used converts that gave me extra horizontal image but lacked the artifacts that HAWKS, a true Anamorphic lens provides. Let me know if you need a set of HAWKS, there is one available today here in NYC or can be delivered. Cheers.
