  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi Guys,


just wondering if anyone here has experience with http://www.shoot35.com/ ?
i'm really interested in their pro follow focus and tried to order one last week but the website comes up with an error upon credit card payment and I tried getting in touch with customer service but haven't gotten an answer back.
 
Hi!

I bought the Cine Focus Pro a couple of weeks ago, and it went smooth as silk. It also is amazing at that pricepoint!
I also have a early version of their follow focus from many years ago, and it has held up really well! I have only good experience with shoot35.com!

I've gotten the Cinefocus Pro originally as an interim follow focus and wanted to update to the brighttangerine Revolvr when they become available. But it's so well built - especially for the price point - I'm in no need to get a new one for now ;)
If you want to know anything specific let me know - if I can help I will ;)

Service has been great in my opinion. One of the removable hard stops didn't fit well into its thread, sent out an email and got a quick replacement without any hassle.

The shop seems to be run mainly by Wayne, the owner himself, which could be a reason for the hold up. But I usually got a response to my mails in a couple of hours.

I'd say - it's worth the wait!

EDIT: I paid via paypal... maybe that's an option instead of the CC...
 
Hi Dominik,

I ordered the shoot35 FF over a year ago to use with my Leicas. It's a great tight little unit but designed for shorter focus throws.
Based on a reduser recommendation I followed up about a month later and ordered a wider gear, and it played MUCH more nicely Leica's focus throws.

If you're planning to use it with your Leicas, I'd mention that to Wayne and request a wider gear (I believe it added about $25).

Thanks Patrick. yeah im in the same boat, been waiting for the Bright Tangerine one since their announcement at NAB last! year.....still nothing, need something in the meantime.

Good point Mark, yes definitely want to use it on my Leicas. Do you guys have an email for Wayne ? I tried the address on the page but haven't gotten a reply since last week.

Had the same experience, Dominik. It turned out that even though the Shoot35 order page lists Discover as a valid form of payment it won't actually accept it. Had to use a Visa Card instead.

I tried my Visa card 3 times now but it still comes back with a gateway error :/ really frustrating.

Yeah, I've been meaning to pick one up as a backup/secondary FF.
