Sharpness issue

Hi Guys

For a while I have a problem with my scarlet-mx/ canon 24-70 usm ii combination.
First I thought it was a lens issue, now i am not so sure anymore.
I dont see it on other camera's I use like a Gh4.

The funny thing is: sometimes its there, sometimes its not there.
I did some tests on a chart but couldn't find the issue there, shots dont look really sharp around edges but i think that is also because of lens character.
It occurs on all focall lengths and so far I think i only saw it on an iris of 2.8
Anybody has a clue what this could be? It drives me nuts.

check the back focus on the camera body.

Looks like your focus may be off. If you look at the first shot, the bridge is out of focus...but in the distance, you almost hit infinity...meaning your focus "missed" the bridge.

Same in the second shot. The back wall is out of focus, yes. But if you look at the boat, it's more in focus.

Also it looks like you are filming ON A BOAT, so there will be motion blur as well if you are at 1/48 - and pulling stills.

My guess is you had taken these same shots on a tripod, and checked your focus exactly, these frames would have been sharp.

also if you have several canon lenses - get CPS ($100 / year) to clean and adjust the lens - I had soft focus on a 24-105 and it turned out the lens needed adjustment

check the back focus on the camera body.

as Jack said, definitely check the backfocus.

After testing and playing around I found that there is just something wrong with it.
The out of focus is just nog normal, it blooms. So I send it away for a check-up.
Other lensens don't have the issue.
