Is there any special settings I should be doing on the audio setup on the RED ONE when I'm using the MKH 416-P48 mic? I think I saw in the RED ONE pdf manual that I should adjust the gain, etc... depending on the manufacturer of the mic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check to make sure the Red you are using has the "New" audio board installed.
If it's the new board a standard straight through XLR to XLR mini will work.

If it's the old board Red made a cross connection Mini XLR to XLR and it should be used.

Its the new audio board, and it connects fine, records audio, but the audio is just really low and I have boost it a lot in FCP. Is this normal? or is there a setting I should adjust on the RED to avoid this in post or lessen the gain I need to do in post? pros, cons of each?
