We'd like to set up our four red one cameras at a conference and we need to have stationary operators using zoom and focus handles from the back of each camera. Can someone point me to a thread about this? We plan to use the SDI outs to feed a switcher. Mostly concerned with the control arms connected to operate zoom and focus controls. I thought I read something similar a while back, but now I can't locate the thread. Is this even do-able? And, if this is possible, where can I buy the needed gear to set them up with handles(control arms) this way?

Spoke to zacuto and cinevate. Nice folks but no go so far. Has anyone else even set up a Red with zoom and focus attached to the tripod handles?

2K
B4 adapter
2/3 Canon or Fujinon video zoom
Handles for zoom and focus control from Canon or Fujinon fixed on tripod handles
Cable from red camera to power the lens.

Or rent Rock 'n Roll handles from a rental house, along with manual follow focus systems as well. Or even Bartecs. This would be your back up plan.

Worst case scenario, manual zoom/focus?

Looked into this a while back for an event record gig.

The Microforce zoom controller can be built on a pan bar, but focus will be difficult. you could use a Bartech or some other lens control system and just ziptie it to the other pan bar, or you can use a very long whip with a normal follow-focus.

Thanks guys.
