  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Setting up GROUP BUY for batteries!

Yes, I stand corrected I was given false information by my factory. However in my first email I responded to you that there was one person who might have sent it and was out of the office. It turns out it was that one person. Here is part of my email to you.

I hope you are doing ok with the pending storm and no serious damage comes to you. I have spoken with PAG today. They informed me that to the best of their knowledge no one from PAG UK replied to you in regards to the shipping cost. The only other person who could have replied is out of the office. Could you please forward the reply to myself and Nigel Gardner Nigel@paguk.com he is the director of sales. Also is was pointed out that no batteries have been purchased yet from the U.S.. I assume you are waiting to see if we can do better here.

Then part my second reply after you forwarded the email to me:

"Thank you for forwarding the email. The one person who was not in the office the day they were asking was Ms. Lavender. I would hope you understand we were not trying to trick or deceive the RED Users."

Also, after all is said and done. can you verify if you did buy the batteries and chargers.

You don't have to contact anyone to the factory to get shipping / VAT info… it's automatically calculated right on their web order form.

Glen, you are correct. However since they are shipping to States there is no VAT. You only pay import duty and taxes. My point was that some shipping companies do add processing and filing fees, not all of them. At the time we were not sure it there would be additional charges on the receiving end.
Regards,
Steve

I know that there is no VAT charged to ship outside the UK (their website order form makes that clear) - I also ship enough stuff to know what individual shippers charge for brokerage fees (FedEx or Post is the cheapest at around $10) & there are no import duties to ship these bats into Canada, so I'll just have to pay Canadian sales tax; same as if I ordered them from the states. All in for me here in Toronto; Shipping will be cheaper from UK than from L.A...

Is it too late to get in on the group buy? I am watching the video and I like what I see. I have no Red Warranty so third party batteries is a non issue for me and airplane travel is a good thing. I am basically sold on them and I am only halfway through your intro video.

Nope! Not too late! either email me (curt@picturethisproductions.net) or PM me. We can get you all hooked up!

Ironically, I was in Stamford, not more than a month ago! Cool!

Curt, would you buy the T versions or the e versions of the batteries. The T versions are 50% more expensive. As I understand their benefit is that they can display how much time left they have. Are there any other benefits?

Best

I have to be honest... I'm a fan of the "E" batteries! It has a "five bar" LED readout... that's all I need. Honestly, I just don't think the extra $100 is worth the numerical read out... HOWEVER, if you do like that... Let me recommend this... let's say for every 4 batteries you get, you only get ONE T battery, and three E batteries... put the T at the "head" of the stack... add to it with the E's... This way it will show you a COLLECTIVE of ALL of the batteries and you get the benefit of the numerical readout for all of them, just off the lead battery! Thanks to Steve Manios for that little suggestion.

Anyway, that's my two cents. I'm getting all "E" batteries, personally.
